Things I'll miss and not miss in USA

MISS

1. Americans
Americans are very open and we will first of all miss our really awesome new friends. I wish that we've met you from the very beginning. Thanks to every one of you for being so kind and letting us in to your life:-) Hope you will come and visit us in Denmark some day.

2. Nature
WOW Denmark will forever be boring and flat. I'll miss the view to the mountains that I pass every day and all the opportunities to go hiking and kayaking. Niagara Falls was a breathtaking experience!

3. Fast food
So nice to have good and healthy fast food opportunities on days where you don't fell like cooking. Chipotle doesn't ask want we want anymore. They just start pouring into the bowl. "5 Guys" please open a restaurant in Denmark and make Mc'Donald history forever.

4. Polite kids
Kids that know how to behave (if they get a reward:-) "Thanks Mrs Sejergaard" It feels awkward when kids call you by the last name, but I'm getting kind of used to it..

5. NYC
That city has so much energy and it has been pretty cool to live only 2.5 hour away from it. I'll be back to take more bites of The Big Apple - love to observe all those different people gathered at one place.

6. Air One, K-Love and country
So cool to be able to listen to Christian contemporary radio stations whenever you're driving. My kids now sing cool songs about Jesus instead of stupid Danish pop with a lot of F.. words. Besides that there's always an american twang country music station - that kind of music just sound better, when you know you are in the land of cowboys.

DON*T MISS

1. American bureaucracy
I come from a country that most americans would consider socialistic, but never in my live have I signed so many papers or met so many "Petty Officials" as in US.
It took me forever to get an american license because I didn't have any american issued papers (Because I come from Denmark!!) but in the end I was approved because I became member of Sams club..?!

2. Safety rules
Land of the free? I don't think so. For instance I find it outrageous that every school has a school nurse, and that same person have to approve every little snack, which by the way never could be homemade, because they prefer store-bought processed, filled with coloring and preserved junk as long as it is NUTfree!! Seriously when does the madness stop?

3. Automatic answering machines
What happened? When ever you try to call the bank, phone company etc. they let you speak with a machine, which tries to be substitutes for real human who never understand what I'm saying with my weird Danish accent (Aren't there a lot of people looking for jobs?) I hope none off my rude answers and yelling to those machines will be published on line..

4. Checks
Something my mum wrote in the 80'ties - in the States you can't make it without them..
Have you heard about net banking?

5. Exaggerated Politeness
Don't ask me how I am if you don't want to hear the answer, and is it really necessary to say excuse me, when you pass people standing 5 meters away?

6. Inch, feet and ounces
We have 10 fingers right? Why hang on to those weird amount measure systems
